Dark leather trim with suede seat inserts in place of the cloth separates the Type-S from the Type-SX for the appeal of the sportsman driver wanting more. Mazda brought this version on-line in 1993 prior to phasing the Type-S out. Added features of the Type-SX are a Torque sensing LSD & 16" BBS wheels (optional 17" also available). Re-rated springs further tune the Cosmo for enhanced handling over the Type-S. The Type-SX proved the most popular choice in the series-II range.
